Compassionate care for orphans and elderly

I am a retired LIC officer, having served in the position of Divisional Manager before retiring in 2006. My wife and I are blessed with one daughter, who is mentally challenged and, as of 2025, is 48 years old.
Upon retirement, we decided to dedicate ourselves to serving society in a meaningful way. Our primary motivation for starting the “Vidyadeep EM School” was to uplift the underprivileged and integrate them into the mainstream of society. We strongly believe that if these individuals are left without support, many of them could eventually turn to anti-social elements due to a lack of opportunities or guidance. With this in mind, our mission is to transform them into productive, positive citizens.
At “Vidyadeep EM School,” we don’t just focus on providing regular academic education, but also emphasize philanthropic teachings, social responsibility, and instilling good work habits. Our goal is to create a well-rounded environment where students are equipped with skills and values that will benefit them in every aspect of life.
As parents of a mentally challenged child, we have personally experienced the struggles that come with raising a child with special needs. This deep understanding led us to establish “Manovikas,” a skill development centre for children with mental disabilities. Through this initiative, we aim to provide much-needed relief to parents by offering their children specialized training and support. At “Manovikas,” we teach practical skills that can empower these children and help them lead more independent and fulfilling lives.
Additionally, we are aware of the loneliness and isolation that many senior citizens face, especially as their children become busy with their own lives. In response to this, we created “Prashanthi Nivas,” a shelter and support centre for the elderly. The aim of Prashanthi Nivas is to offer a peaceful and caring environment where seniors can find comfort, companionship, and mental peace. We believe that through this initiative, we can ease the emotional burden of those who feel neglected or abandoned, giving them a space to feel valued and cared for in their later years.
